A molecular workflow
built for koala health research.

Radetec developed a LAMP research workflow targeting Chlamydia pecorum in koalas. The project connects assay development with the practical needs of testing closer to the point of care.

The project

From target to a portable testing workflow

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) offers a molecular route to detecting pathogen DNA without a conventional thermal cycling workflow. For this project, we explored assay conditions and a compact readout around the koala C. pecorum target.

The design work extends beyond the reaction itself: sample handling, amplification conditions, controls and instrument operation all affect how a research assay can be used in practice.
